The project development objective is to enhance access to secondary education and improve its quality. The indicators of it are increasing the net male enrollment rate in higher secondary education, improving school level learning outcomes in English Language, Mathematics and Science in secondary grades and improving teaching practices in secondary grades. The project would also assist in the governments efforts to ensure education quality through the internal and external quality reviews and national assessments in addition to providing technical assistance to utilize the findings of these programs for strategic planning and program development.
The project aims to strengthen evidence-based policy making by establishing and operationalising a digital based Education Management Information System (EMIS). It will also train MoE and school level staff in the use of the data for decision making. In addition, a training facility would be established under this grant in the National Institute of Education.
